What is your style Architecture?
I don't have any one style, besides good design, good proportions and carefully crafted details. I have created Architecture in many styles and types of projects from rustic homes with heavy timbers to party barns to country cottages to modern homes, and everything in between. Let's talk about your project and what style you like, and we can create it together!
How many people work at Josh Davis Architecture and who would be working on my project?
What is great about hiring Josh Davis Architecture, is that you know exactly who will be working for you, me. I don't hire draftsmen or interns to do my work. I will personally be the one designing, drawing, and responding to you and your project. I believe that my accomplishments are not determined by how many employees I have, or how many projects I do, but rather by the quality of each project and happy clients.
How far away from your office will you take a project?
Distance shouldn't be an issue on taking a project. While it is nice to have a projects in Middle Tennessee for easy trips to the site for observation, it is not necessary. I have done many projects out of state as far as California. Most of our coordination together is now done over zoom calls. However, this can always be coordinated with you and the project for what works best. I am currently licensed in Tennessee, but if a project requires state licensure I may look into getting a reciprocal license if required.
What software do you use for drawing?
I use a BIM CAD software called Archicad. There are now basically two powerful BIM softwares, Archicad and Revit. I have used both and know both very well. I believe Archicad is the best software for creating complex projects, which is why I choose it for my firm. I do not have any limitations to what I can create, and I have the capabilities to share these files with you in a format that you can go through at your own time, its like playing a video game with your project as the environment. I also use a software called Lumion for 3D rendering and have the Adobe suite of products to use as well. All of this allows me to provide you with the best images so that you can visualize your project before spending any construction money.
What is the process in a few words?
We will discuss your project and what all you are looking for in your dream home or party barn or some other cool structure for some cool activity, and I will help you create that dream through designing and creating a set of construction documents that can be priced and built. I can help you no matter where you are at in the process, if you would like, from help with site selection, to overseeing the construction until it is completed, and everything in between. Tell me a little about yourself?
I am married to my Highschool sweetheart and we have four kids (23, 22, 8, and 5). I played soccer in college with scholarship before transferring to the University of Tennessee where I studied Architecture and graduated in 2005. I have over 20 years of experience where I have completed projects such as hospitals, airport work, educational buildings, commercial buildings, and many many custom homes! I am one of the lucky few who love what they do for a living. I am an inventor type personality and love to learn how things work and are detailed. I own 2 patents for a toy invention I created and manufactured called ARMOblox. I have been working in Architecture for 20+ years, and really love what I do now, Architecture for you!
